Today I have a ridiculously easy d.i.y. idea to share with you guys. The other day, I picked up some white gift tags to add to my wedding favours. On their own they’re pretty boring and I wanted to come up with a way to pretty them up and tie them in with the rest of my decor/colour scheme, so I bought myself a gold stamp pad and started playing around. I ended up going with a very simple design using bold geometric lines, but you could definitely experiment with more complicated shapes and patterns.

Materials Needed:
- Gift Tags
- Stamp Pad
- Tape (preferably low tack, but scotch tape will works as long as you’re careful)
- Make-up Sponge

Step 1: Place gift tag on your work surface (make sure to protect your table from being inked with a piece of paper or extra tape) and use tape to mask your desired design. If you’re stamping a more complicated design, such as a chevron, it may help to draw your design lightly in pencil first.

Step 2: Ink your sponge well. Using an up and down motion dab the ink onto the tag until you achieve the desired coverage

Step 3: Once you are happy with the coverage, slowly and carefully peel the tape off the tag, taking care not to rip the tag.

Step 4: Allow the ink to dry fully. In humid weather, this may take awhile, so be patient!

Step 5: Erase any pencil marks you may have drawn and finish your tags. Add some string, write or stamp a message, hang them on your gifts/favours and you’re ready to go!
Too easy right? Another great way to dress up your gift tags is to use washi tape; You can get a similar effect, but with less mess. How would you guys dress up your gift tags?
