Think you can’t plan an amazing and beautiful wedding in a short period of time? Well be prepared to be blown away by Katrina and Chris’ wedding then. These two were only engaged for 3 months, but with the help of family and friends they pulled off an incredible wedding (car accident and all).
In Katrina’s Words:
Our wedding was a total collaboration with our families and friends. We had my dad walk me down the aisle and marry us, we had my mom doing the flowers, Chris’ sister, uncle and cousin sang for us, my friend Sarah made the cake, and my friend Lara made the invitations and thumbprint tree. Since we were only engaged for three months, we really treasure the time and effort people made to help out with our wedding. We could not have done it without them. There was only a slight glitch on the day of the wedding. All of the bridal party (minus the men), the photographer and I actually got in a car accident on the way to the wedding. We were just turning in to the venue driveway when we were rear ended.Things went flying everywhere and when the car stopped moving I became aware of screaming. My heart dropped and I jumped out of the car to check on everyone. I just prayed that everyone was ok. Thankfully, everyone was alright and no one was hurt. The little flower girls were screaming because they were scared, but when we got them out, they ran happily away again once they caught their breath (they actually ran ahead to the groomsmen and told them what happened – which you can imagine freaked them out!). We were all shaken up and kind of in shock, but everyone was alright. The worst that happened was two wrecked cars, a few tears, and my sister had all of the bouquets and boutonnieres on her lap in a box and when the air bags went off they kind of all blew up. Since the wedding was due to start pretty soon, my mom just plucked out the worst looking flowers from the bouquets and added a few more from the venue garden, we quickly called the hair and make up girls back for a re-do, our trooper photographer took a few pictures, and the day went on! Looking back now it’s a pretty funny story. Something like that totally would happen to me on my wedding day. But it was fine, I can honestly say I was bothered by nothing that happened and really just excited and happy for everything that did happen. I married my best friend. And we had a very fun celebration afterward! And after the celebration, my husband surprised me with a honeymoon in Greece! It was just the best day ever.
I’m sorry, but I can’t help, but love a bride that describes being in a car accident just before her wedding ceremony as the only ” slight glitch” on the day!
