Today’s wedding from Jayme Morrison warms my nerdy little heart for so many reasons, but mainly for just one reason: Superhero bow ties! That’s right, the groom and his groomsmen wore super hero bow ties and cuff links; do you need any other reason to love this wedding? Because I sure don’t! In all seriousness though, Emilie and Jake’s wedding really is amazing and stylish on so many levels – the wooded ceremony venue, Emilie’s gorgeous dress, the sparkler send-off – I promise you are going to adore it!
In Emilie’s Words:
The look for my wedding took me a while to settle on. I probably changed my mind about the theme at least 10 times. Thatʼs the downside with looking at so many wedding blogs, you get so many different and awesome ideas that you want to shove into one wedding. Luckily, I had an amazing wedding decorator/planner/day-of coordinator extraordinaire, Lisa Arner of Green Owl Designs, who turned a ton of scattered ideas into something more than my husband or I could have even imagined. There were quite a bit of DIY projects that were part of our day and they were one of my favourite parts of the wedding planning process. We collected all the candy bar bowls, dessert table trays and cake stands, fabric to tie the napkins and teacups and milk vases for the tables. The dessert table was a collaborative effort from my mother and my husbandʼs mother and the wedding cake itself was made by a good friend of the family. It was nice having family and friends contribute. It made it more personal. Our main goal was to have a relaxed, fun-filled and unique wedding day with lots of little details that reflected our personalities (such as the superhero bowties and cufflinks). I think we accomplished just that and we could not have dreamed of a more amazing day.
Isn’t the bodice of this dress beautiful? Very classic, and perfect for such a gorgeous bride.
This photo of the groomsmen makes me happier than you can even imagine.
What a great send-off! Congrats Emilie and Jake!
