The weekend is almost here my friends and I think we should end the week right with an awesome wedding, don’t you? Luckily for us, today’s wedding from Jennifer Ballard should do the trick quite nicely. Sarah and Greg’s beautiful Etsy filled affair at the Millcroft Inn is simply lovely and full of vibrant pops of colour that are sure to clear away any of those work week doldrums you may be experiencing. Enjoy!
In Sarah’s Words:
So Greg and I had flip-flopped many times about where to have the wedding: destination or home, home or destination? We knew we wanted to do something unique that also just “fit” with us. When we finally decided we would stay in Ontario for the wedding, Greg thought of having it at an inn. We wanted a rustic feel with a modern twist and a place where we could do everything; ceremony, reception, dinner and overnight stay. Greg had a specific inn in mind but unfortunately it was unavailable due to renovations. My mom suggested the Millcroft Inn; she had been for lunch years ago and thought it might be what we were looking for. We visited with our families in the wintertime and knew right away we had found the right place! The 100-acre grounds were gorgeous, with walking trails, beautiful heritage buildings and a picturesque waterfall. It was just so romantic!
Can we just talk about the beaded bodice on Sarah’s wedding dress for a moment? Isn’t it amazing? Sadly, the designer Priscilla of Boston has now shut down all their salons.
Sarah and Greg’s Favourite Part of the Day:
It is so hard to choose the best part of our day! The day after the wedding Greg and I just couldnʼt stop saying how much fun we had and how perfect the day was. Greg and I both agree, however, that the ceremony was our favourite part. We really wanted it to be special and our officiant did such an amazing job. She not only captured how we feel about each other and our thoughts about marriage, but she made us feel so relaxed! We were actually able to enjoy every moment.
Sarah’s Advice to Brides-to-be:
Planning a wedding becomes all-consuming; it seemed like it was all I thought about for 6 months. It was stressful at the time but it was all worth it. I think if itʼs possible, brides should relax and remember that it will all turn out beautifully. A few days before my wedding I felt really anxious. I spoke to one of my closest friends and she said to me, “Donʼt worry. Whatever happens, just know that your wedding day is going to be the best day of your life.” And it really was.
